OH no! I have a parenting dilemma help!

OK, as you all know Aaralyn has been sick and out of school for the last week. She's doing really well today but yet she keeps saying "I'm still really sick"... I believe hinting that she thinks she may not be ready to go back to school on Monday, because when I tell her she's going to school, she insists she will still be sick.... I don't think there's any issues with school, just that she's been home and getting a lot of extra TLC from me and Mikey and Amber and she just wants that to keep going Wink Love . I know once she's back to the school routine she'll be happy with that.

So, here's my dilemma... my friend Ren called today to see if we wanted to go to the Renaissance Festival this afternoon. I'm not sure if I should stick to my rule today (kinda calling her bluff) saying that if she was still this sick then we needed to have a quiet day inside, with a nap Naughty , and that she wouldn't be able to do any running around at all. It's been more reverse psychology trying to convince her that she's really not that sick now LOL.

Should I stick to my guns and say no festival today because "she's too sick" or should I say whatever and we go?? There's always the option to go tomorrow too, maybe that will be more encouragement for her to realize if she can do that on Sunday she can go to school on Monday....

i would go and take her

theres no reason you should miss out being with a friend and if she still complains whilst shes there then you know she still is not feeling well

i would tell her that she cant go cause shes too 'unwell' and should stay indoors like you had said. theres still the chance to go tomorrow. thats what i do with my kids. catherine is terrible for not eating her dinner but wanting pudding. im like 'well if youre too full up to eat your dinner then youre obvioulsy too full up for pudding' it usually works

good luck whatever you decide to do xxx

Hmmm? well i would be tempted to go, i have to confess. But i think i would prob go tommorow and stick to my guns today? As you said it may be more of an incentive that if she can do that on sunday then there is no reason why she can't go to school on monday! Hope you have a great time if you go hun. Good luck in your decision Xx

I've decided that we're gonna hang around home today and either go to the festival tomorrow or maybe go out on the boat with Mike. I have lots of cleaning and laundry still to do today anyway, so we've decided to have a nice movie day/evening... We went to the grocery store and got some snack stuff and pizza for dinner.... and then off to bed with her early tonight... since she's still so sick Wink lol (she insists this still but she is not even coughing hardly at all now!)... and then Mikey and I will be making up for some long lost time between us Smile Naughty Very happy
