Hysteroscopy - anyone had one?

Hi everyone.
I've been taking Clomid for the past 6 months - obviously with no avail! I have recently been given an appointment to have a hysteroscopy next month. I'm extremely nervous about this, and wonder where they'll put the local anesthetic??? Shocked

Has anyone else had this procedure?

Sorry hun, is this where they insert a camera into your womb to have a look? If so i'm not sure what sort of anaesthetic they will use? Have you asked your consultant hun? I hope everything goes well for you and you get the answers you need Kiss Xx

Sorry I should've explained ... a hysteroscopy is where they insert a camera into your womb, but NOT via your tummy button! I'm becoming a little nervous about it.

my friend had 1 and they actually discovered she was 2 weeks pregnant.

She said it was uncomfortable and a bit embarrasing but no more than a smear.

Good luck with it

Hi I have had a hysteroscopy but I was under general as I also had a laparoscopy so I'm afraid I wouldn't know how they did it. However, when I woke up, the only pain was in my belly where they had gone through my belly button with the laparoscopy and no pain from down below so I'm sure you will be fine. My overall recovery was a week and that was with stitches so you may be uncomfortable for a day but that should be it. Good luck!
