Oh my piles have got worse :(

Despite drinking lots and eating well and not being constipated (sorry if too much information), I have had piles. Not too bad to date but over the last 2 days, boy, they have been bad Crying

It's like sitting on a beanbag Embarassed

I've tried Germoloids cream which has eased them a little but I feel quite uncomfortable. Also, don't laugh, it's not gonna be a nice sight for any MW if they stay until delivery time Blink

I had a minor panic today when I was reading my weekly emails on stages of pregnancy saying you shouldn't use certain creams for piles whilst pregnant. I never thought about that! However, I checked an Germoloids are fine

I just wondered if the sudden onset of major piles was common around this time (I'm 34 weeks today)?

Anyone got any good suggestions as to how to ease the discomfort without keep using creams?

never had that problem but sounds like you are in pain. I would maybe give the MW a little phone and see what they suggest.

You could try a cream called anusol, that works apparently. I have had piles all the way through, about 4. I started eating a cereal called clusters and allthough this sounds crazy they have cleared up mainly because the flakes are bran/wholemeal. I have just 1 now. They are meant to ease after childbirth so I am told. I hope this helps a little. But if you are still in pain then seek medical advice from your MW

My friend unfortunately suffered from pregnancy caused piles, and hers came back towards the end due to the pressure caused by baby, she was told it made them pop out again, poor love. Sorry I've no advice, as i never suffered from them, but hope they ease a little for you

I got them slightly round that time. Try the anusol cream and lactoluse to help you go to the loo more often so its softer maybe.

Its very common i am sure the midwives see it all the time.(But its horrid i know)

The cream will help, and the lactulose will keep it soft so it does not make it worse or hurt when you go

Hope your feeling better today

Hi everyone

Thanks for all the advice. The germoloids cream has helped and the MW said today that hopefully they will go away after baby is born.

It's just one of those great side-effects of being pregnant for some of us Crazy
