My contract is due to run out in Nov and I have started looking around for a new phone and and contract.

I have O2 at the moment and a nokia N73.

I don't get the best signal in the hosue with O2 but I am very tempted by the iphone.

I did think about changing to orange (used them before on pay as you go and I do get a good signal) and I like the Samsung Omnia i900 and Sony Ericsson C902

There are too many choices.

Anyone got any ideas?

If you were with O2 on PAYG I would tell you to stay with them but almost every contract deal is about the same with price and quality these days. No-one seems to want to make a better deal and tend to try and improve their PAYG offers instead of contract!

Regards to you saying your tempted by Vodafone I have heard Rumour that O2 and Vodafone are meant to be going into some sort of partnership where they use eachothers signal lines making both of their signals stronger up and down the country. Please don't quote me on that though as I don't know how true it is as it was a friend that told me but as I say it's just a rumour I heard. Tesco mobile have joined up with O2 to make their signal stronger and that one is true cos I saw it in a Tesco store once lol

Keep away from Verizon. They are money grabbing scammers. But i think Samsung and Telus are pretty good. Rob good services with them. Rogers is good too.
Personally, though, I hate cellphones. When I go out to downtown I get bothered enough by beggars that a cellphone would just be another distraction and I woud walk into a pole.

my first contract was with o2 500mins 500 texts at £35 a month. I called up to cancel my contract as with dial a phone you can get a free x-box with your contract and o2 offered me the same mins and texts for £15 a mnth and an upgraded phone.

Blink can't participate with this one then... you guys have different companies for wireless service of course than we do!

Good Luck findin a good plan Alex!

Me and my DP are both on O2, we top up £10 a month and automatically get 300 free texts and then O2 take £5 call time and we get 1000 texts or minutes (no need to choose, it's combined) to 10 O2 numbers of our choice! Fantastic value for money for a PAYG phone. I currently have the Sony Ericsson K800i and love it although I do want the K850i cos I like the touch screen bit at the bottom but personally can't stand the new iPhone!

Used O2 ever since I switched off T-Mobile formerly One2One. Used orange and vodafone for work before and both have been worse in my opinion.

Three definitely, and possibly Virgin as well, piggyback off the O2 network.

With regards to handsets I've used SonyEricsson's for the last few years, primarily because the cameras on their phones seem to be about the best there is and also their battery life is excellent. I had a Nokia N70 and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Perhaps they've improved since. I've been tempted by the iPhone3G as well but its a bit big for a phone and I've got an iPod plus a GPS already.

I have had problems with every mobile provider apart from O2 so I will never go with anyone else even if they could save me money unless obviously it would be a work phone cos then I don't have to deal with them if it goes wrong
