tornado over Winnipeg

This tornado did destroy 1 house. The woman ended up homeless because our insurance companies don't cover tornadoes. This was all over the news. The funnel could be seen on the otherside of town. I saw it myself that day. Me and my mom were head to a restaurant on the bridge close to the community it hung over. We were unsure if it was just starting or if it was dissipating.

I hear there is a hurricane heading for the US again at the moment, apparently people were going to be forced to leave their homes at about 8/9am this morning so the hurricane can blow over, when I saw it on the news it was on the Cuban border although we know how the news can get with inflated stories so I'm not 100% sure how much to read into it lol

Have they even got over Hurricane Katrina a few years back?

No I wouldn't say they've recovered, some areas are getting somewhat back to normal but there's still lots of homeless and displaced people Sad Face

Really feel for these people, we must be 1 of the most luckiest countries for hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes. I'm 23 and have only known of 1 hurricane and 1 earthquake and can name more in the US let alone China and India and over that part of the world!

It's pretty scary in some places in the US... we are pretty safe here where we are but every once in a while we'll get hit with some pretty nasty remnants of hurricanes and very rarely a direct hit. My mom grew up in Alaska, she experienced quite a few really bad earth quakes, my sister went through one with her when she was a baby, I never did.

Strangely though, where I live now is on one of the largest fault lines, which cause earth quakes! Shocked

Yeh we normally get the backlash of the hurricanes from the US, living on the south coast waterline doesn't really help either as the wind can get bad enough coming straight off the water that it almost feels like a hurricane sometimes but obviously it's not. I'm 15st and it has lifted me once and slammed me into the side of 1 of the building downs here which was rather scary!
