Candra's development still lacks?

So, A few years ago my 6 year old daughter, Candra, was diagnosed as having a global development delay. Most of you won't know what that is and niether do alot of the speech and language councilors that we have met. My daughter was quick to learn things when she was a baby up until she started getting early childhood seizures.
Now, I didn't know those unconsolible tantrums ( with head banging and biting anything that came near her) were siezures. After all, there's no history of epilepsy anywhere in our family.
That discovery was made when i mentioned it to one of the many specialists that worked with Candra. Fortunatly, she hasn't had any seizures in years. But that makes it difficult to prove for to doctors and other specialist that inquire as to why she is slow in her speech and other areas of development. These seizures, i have been told, Are what caused delays in her development. Candra is not mentally or physically challenged. And what i want to get out is that she speaks fine now. She can say a full sentence. She may not always makes sense when she tells a story, but what young kid does? I have had doubts about her involvement and concerns about the pressure she has to endure to be ever so by the book on her development. Whatever happend to "every kid learns at their own pace"? And, if she doesn't get seizures any more and is catching up quickly then whats the big issue with her?

I know how you feel. My eldest Ana has autistic spectrum disorder and it took seven years of begging for help before we finally got a diagnosis.

Stupidly I thought once we had that diagnosis everything would click into place. But because we coped for so long they have no decided that it doesn't effect Ana that badly so we don't get much help.

In the years running up to Anaa diagnosis I was forever having doctors and specialist asking me why Ana couldn't do such and such or why she was unable to talk properly. I felt like screaming, 'you're the medical professional, you tell me!'

Just caryy on the way you are as it's working fine for you and Candra Kiss

I agree with the others hun, sounds like you are doing a great job with candra and as long as she is happy and healthy the rate at which she learns to tell a story is completely irrelevant. Just keep doing what you're doing. Candra will get there in her own time and at her own pace! Xx
