One boob or Two

since I started i have been giving cssie both boobs at feed time which usually lasts an hour and half. She is putting on 8oz a week which the health visitor is happy with. The boob dilemma has come up since meeting up with some friends who say they only feed off one boob at a time. Just feel confused Neutral as i was feeling that everything was going well in that way.

the 'new' method is feed on one side only and the next feed time use the other side. My mum and many of her pals used the 20minutes each side and I know my friend used this method and found it sooo much better because she had trouble remembering what side she had used last

I also used both sides as one wasn't enough for either of my daughters, and as others have said if it is working for you I would carry on.

I know people who have used the one side method, and then have had to put a safety pin in their bra strap so they can remember which side they feed LO from last. Very happy

Whatever you and your baby are happy with is best, your body will adapt to the demands you give it so stick with what you know

Jas was premature so wouldn't take to the breast so I expressed for 3 months and always did both sides. I found that as soon as I started one, the other leaked like heck anyway so it was easier to get them both sorted per sitting Very happy

Thanks people it is just reassuring that if what feels right for us is the right thing to do. Just get fed up with so much stuff being contradicted everywhere.

I just do one side at a time as I heard starting on the second one waters the first one down as baby then returns to foremilk.
