Our trip was amazing!!

We had such a great time! (even if I do still feel the rocking sensation of being on a boat LOL). We changed our original course and went somewhere other than planned.

We didn't get as early a start on Thursday evening as we'd hoped to so we slept on the boat in the marina where it stays and then headed out early Friday morning. We cruised all day Friday and got into a marina on Solomon's Island, Maryland that evening. The place was great, it was like a little mini resort/campground for boaters!! They had a great pool and beautifully landscaped grounds there, nice private showers and bathrooms (which is great cuz the shower/head on the boat is small!)

We woke up Saturday morning and Mike cooked us breakfast on the boat and then we packed up and headed out to our next "port of call". We cruised for about 6 hours on Saturday in really rough waters (4-5 foot waves!! ) but the Pura La Vida is 31 feet so good sized boat so we were safe, not to mention we were with the best Captain in the world! I was a bit nautiaus and I think Aaralyn was too but didn't want to admit it, though neither of us vomited LOL!

Saturday evening we came into Crisfield, Maryland, which is the blue crab capital of the world (I think you gotta be a Marylander to really appreciate eating good blue crabs!) The Marina we stayed at had a nice pool too so we swam for a bit and then went out to dinner in the town. We left out of there pretty early on Sunday because there was a possibility of storms in the afternoon. It was pretty rough Sunday too but no as bad as Saturday. I even drove the boat for a little while and I didn't hit any other boats! woo hoo go me!!

On a icky note, Aaralyn had her first experience with a jelly fish sting. Her and Mike were swimming in the bay and I was the look out for jelly fish... unfortunately as they were climbing the ladder to get back on the boat, one came up from underneith the boat and got them both I pulled Aaralyn up and she had long tentacles (the stingy things) still wrapped around her legs. She was such a trouper about it and even still wanted to "like" the jelly fish because as she put it, "it didn't mean to hurt me, it's just nature mommy"

So, other than some rough waters and some stingy jelly fish, we had THE BEST time!!! Aaralyn was so well behaved and so into everything, she made me sooooooo proud. She is definately a boater!!

Poor Aaralyn and mike getting stung by the jellyfish, and well done to her for being so brave, if it were Charlotte she would have screamed the ocean away lol!!

Thanks guys!! I'm ready to do it again soon... hopefully one more over night trip before the summer is over!

and I still haven't gotten my land legs back yet.... I'm still rocking back and forth... or is it the computer rocking back and forth LOL
