Do you swear infront of your children?

I've just read a post on another site where the parent is concerned that her child has picked up "curse" words - all of her posts seem to have "f this, and f that" as every other word, so its obvious where the child has picked this up.

I don't swear, I don't see the need for it, but DP has started swearing in frustration (he has a very stressful job etc). I'm concerned that DD, being 2 and a half is learning new words everyday, I'm sure its a matter of time where she says something I don't want her to say!

DH is a bad swearer he swears all the time, i go mad with him for it! sometimes it slips out with me, even if me and DH didnt swear the kids will only pick it up from school

yeah but tbh just cause someone posts like that doesnt mean they talk like that all the time... is it possible that the posts like that are heat of the moment ones? or is it all of her posts?

i know i occasionally do swear in posts, but only if i am really really peeved off that does not mean i swear in front of my children. but thats just me Wink

IMO swearing in your posts are fine, maybe someone swears in their post because they need to get their anger out knowing that they cant swear in front of their children?

Terrible parent me does swear in front of the kids. I have got better as they get older tho. Fact remains that my son knows that under absoloutly no circumstances are those words something he is allowed to say. Adults only, simple as.

yeah but i have to say i hate even adults saying certain swear words so do hope that my boys never say them at all, never mind wether or not they are adults at the time...

me and my b/f sware in front of the kids, but elise has never said a sware word!

i dont see the problem with swareing if the kids dont say it! elise knows not to say naughty words cuz its only mummys an daddys that are alowed to say them!

we don't swear in front of the girls, i made hubby stop from them being a few months old, lol.

And although i am fully awear that they'll hear it all at school i'd hate to think it was my kids teaching the others.

I don't think i've ever heard my parents swear either and even now won't swear infront of them. Don't know why, must be a respect thing, or perhaps i'm just a prude.

I must admit i have occasionly said a swear word infront of DD but she knows this is bad and tells me off for it! but when we lived with in-laws FIL was terrible for swearing at the football so know where the blame was then lol!
I dont make a scene though i simply change it to something like "silly billy" or " oh dear" and DD repaets that and forgets the bad words!
