When should i tell Georgia-Mae

As some of you know, i took a pg test on Friday which was positive. I've just been to the Docs and he has arranged to book me in with the midwife so i'm awaiting to hear from then for my first appointment.

They didn't test my urine etc as he said pg tests are fantastic these days so there is no reason for a duplicate. (when i fell pg with Georgie they felt my tummy did a sample at the surgery etc so i found that quite strange)

I think i'm about 5.5 weeks as my dates cannot be perfect due to irregular periods.

Anyway Georgia-Mae is 4 and we're not quite sure whether to tell her yet or leave it a while. I did have a m/c back in 07 and didn't know i was pg so just worried incase anything happens.

However she has noticed i do not feel to well and i don't really want her jumping around on me as usual and shew keeps asking when we are having a baby!!!!

Hmmmmn Suspect Suspect

I would try to wait to, just in case, I hate to sound negative but that might be a tough thing for her to have accept after getting excited about having a sibling.

Of course, if it were me, I'd be bursting to tell everyone right away Shutup

i personally would wait to tell her, dont tempt fate, as she may be pleased and heaven forbid something happens youve got to explain that to her too.

So i would play safe and wait.

I would leave it as long as you can. My pal told her 4 yr old when she was 13 weeks and her DD got fed up of people talking about baby and asking her about being a big sister.

I told Jas after my 12 week scan this time. I made the mistake of telling her last year as soon as I knew (about 5 weeks) but then went on, sadly, to have a MC at 8 weeks. She was very upset and has asked a few times with this pregnancy if the baby will be 'staying with us this time'. We showed her the pictures at 12 and 21 weeks and she's very excited and has felt the baby move now too which she thought was wonderful.

Of course, the decision is yours completely, it's up to you how you feel and I'm sure she will be delighted at whatever point you tell her. Good luck Very happy

Well we originally planned to tell her after the scan anyway - depending on how late that is and if after 13 weeks is later then to tell her after that point!

I am bursting to tell some people too! Halo

I don't think I can remember saying anything to Charlotte until after my 12 weeks scan but she was not even 2 so she didn't quite gather what exactly was going on until i got bigger.

We had to explain to her that mummy was feeling delicate (especially after bleeding early on) and that she was to be gentle to mummy, so no jumping up and down while sat on mummy's knee.

I was too! I told my best friend just so I had someone to talk to about it before I went nuts Cuckoo It's one of the hardest secrets to keep isn't it Very happy
