Confused over weaning

I started to wean Harrison 3 weeks ago and is now taking his food well. He is on breakfast and lunch. But now late afternoon and just before he goes to bed he is not very hungry? I am giving hims slightly less milk even though the books say not to do this untill he is well established on 3 meals a day.

When is it you get rid of a bottle, he only has 4 a day anyway. at about 8.30, 12.30, 4 and 7pm. Plus i was going to start giving him some tea now. Which bottle is the best one to get rid of?

Any tips??? Confused

When we started to ween our daughter we started by removing the tea-time bottle. We then removed the lunch-time bottle.

She has just turned 1 and is still on 3 bottles a day plus 3 meals a day.

She has 1 bottle when she gets up followed by some breakfast. She then has a bottle and goes back to bed for a morning nap after being up for a couple of hours.

She has some lunch and then later on in the evening some tea. She has her final bottle at bedtime. She normally takes it to bed with her to finish.

I hope this is of some use to you. You'll get to know what your child wants and when they want it. Everyone does it differently, there is no right or wrong way so long as you make sure they are given enough to eat throughout the day.

Aaralyn basically weened herself off of breast milk at 8 months old Sad Face

She was already eating 3 meals of solid foods at that point, mushed or pureed of course. She went straight to cow's milk after breast milk because she threw up every kind of formula I gave her. The Dr had to keep an eye on her iron level because the vitamin D in whole cow's milk can take away from the iron somehow?? but she was fine with her iron levels so I stuck with the cow's milk....

Oh yea, I forgot to say I also started giving her rice cereal at about 4 months old, starting with it diluted alot in a bottle.

Maybe he needs something more varied? Maybe make it a bit more lumpy or introduce new flavours?

My friend found that her little one was refusing purees and baby food and it was because she prefered to eat what everyone else did.

HTH xx
