I got a call from my MIL's brother at 8am to say that my MIL had got taken into hospital this am with partically collapsed lung Sad Face

I only spoke to her last night and we had arranged to go round hers on Sunday for dinneer - she does a lovely roast Smile

Such a shock as she was absolutely find when I spoke to her and no hint of anything wrong. She is such a lovely lady and we all get on really well with her.

She has to stay in for a couple of days and is about to be moved to a ward Sad Face

I hope she recovers quickly hun!! My thoughts are with you and your family.

When I was working at Dunkin Donuts one of the highschool kids working there had that happen to him while at work and ended up in the hospital for a couple weeks but made a full recovery!

Well, she's been moved to a ward now and have been told that she is comfortable - usual bog standard ward talk!!

My other half is off to see her when he gets back from work. Pity I am here childminding or I could have gone to see her before then Sad Face

Am sure she will be okay - she's a strong old bird!!

Hopefully Dennis will get a better idea later how long she will be in for. Then we can plan on cooking her a roast Smile Unfortunately his 2 sisters are down on holiday in New Forest this week. But, like I said to them, there is no point them coming back as there is nothing they can do. They are due back on Saturday anyway which is hopefully when mum will be out again so we can do lots of rallying around then Smile

She's being moved to a different hospital today as her lung isn't inflating as it should be. She had a scan and it looks like she has a hole in it so that has to be repaired.

I think the OP is booked for tomorrow so hopefully we will have some better news then

This happened to my hubby so I can totally sympathise Kiss

His was a spontaneous pnuemothorax but fortunately his wasn't so bad he needed it draining or repairing, he lost about 20% of his lung capacity. He was layed up for an awful long time and only went back to work properly a month ago and it happened in April!

Best of luck to her hun and I hope she makes a good recovery xx
