Milk kids under 5
I got told kids under five have to have full fat milk, is this true, cause I dunno???
Cait drinks loads of milk so just want to make sure.
charly wont touch full fat but she drinks a little of skimmed but she eats loads of cheese and yoghurts etc.. so i know shes getting plenty of calcium.
i never drank full fat either they do recommend it but its up to the child really lol
It's for the calcium - but I guess if she's getting it from other sources.
They also get free milk under 5 at pre school and school
I was always told to give Aaralyn whole milk until about 3 years of age and then switch to lower fat milk... she's 5 now and drinks 1% fat milk...

I thought it was full fat for the fat content but semi had more calcium
But yes they are supposed to have full fat (or blue) until they are 5 but I think any milk is better than none

Mine only have full fat for the calcium and the fat content to help build them up

We switched to semi-skimmed when the youngest child reached 3.

its best to give full fat milk to at least 2yres old but up to 5yrs old is best - lottie has just moved onto semi-skimmed and thomas has full fat

Thanks, I've always had blue topped milk. Don't like green!Lol.
Cait has cheese and yoghurts too she loves them!
Charlotte was on semi skimmed for a while as she prefered it because we drink it, but when we put george on Full fat she began to drink it again.
I think they have to have full fat because of the fat content, but all milk has the same calcium whether it has fat or not, as far as I was told.
