Just wondered if any of you could put my mind at rest, went to the loo earlier and had a little blood when i wiped. Then next thing i know the water in the toilet is bright red. blead quite a bit with a few small clots. i paniced and rang NHS Direct Upset , they asked lots of questions and said not to worry, keep an eye on it over night and go see doctor in the morning. How can i not panic? Does anyone have any advise, had anything similar or could suggest whats wrong. In a bit of state at the min!! Crying

NHS Direct normally put you through to a midwife who will assess you over the phone ( maybe thats what you are talking about ), if they thought this was serious, they would have you into hospital now. I think it's normal to have some bleeding during, my partner did a week ago and they told her to come in for a routine scan to make sure there were no problems. If you are still worried, phone them back and tell them that you are really worried and what do they advise as you think you've bled more than you should.

Hun don't panic Kiss

I had a bleed at about 5 + weeks and I was terrified too hun. I went to A&E and they refered me there and then to an EPU and I was scanned (everything seemed as it should but at 5 weeks they can't really detect a heart beat so I had a 2 week wait for another scan).

I know this sounds a bit gross but think of what it is like if you go for a wee when you're 'on' and that can make the water look very red even though you are only supposed to loose a small amount of blood the whole time you're on your period.

Are you in any pain? You've not mentioned that you are so I guess you're not, which is also a good sign.

thinking of you hun Kiss If you are still worried see if you can get your GP to refer you for a scan. xx

I had bleeding this pregnancy to at 5 weeks. I phoned the hospital directly and they referred me to the EPU and I had an appointment the next day for a scan. We saw the sac then and went back 2 weeks later for 2nd scan to see the embryo and heartbeat. I had another bleed in between but was told by the EPU to just rest and call if it got worse. Fortunately, all is well. Very happy

I did have a miscarriage last year but that started with a bleed that just didn't stop and got heavier. If you have any pains, get straight in to the hospital A&E to ensure you're not having an ectopic pregnancy.

Hope all goes well for you and do keep us posted. Kiss
