Oh no...

My little girl went to a fabulous play group which she absolutely loved and she has gone into Primary school with a good knowledge of numeracy and literacy. She also made great friends there who are all very confident children also doing well at school. The staff there were lovely and when she started I didn't find any other play groups around which in my opinion matched up. It had a real homely feel with the little personal touches that gave me confidence to leave her there knowing she was always having such a lovly time.
Here comes the OH NO part. My little boy was due to start there next January but today I've found out it is closing. The lovely lady who runs it is retiring (and it's on her property attached to her house so it's not like someone else can take over her job). I've just phoned a couple of places to book appointments to look round but I feel so sad for my boy that he might not get such a good start as his sister had. Also with it closing there will be more children competing for the spaces now at the other playgroups. Plus it has to be close by so I can drop him off at the same time as I take my daughter to school. Oh why do these things happen? Shocked Tounge Out

Thanks everyone. I'm hopeful that it will work out, everything happens for a reason (or so I tell myself) Neutral

Got two play groups lined up to look at, one of them tomorrow so fingers crossed as it's the one closest to where we live and the school DD is at. Also think some of the other children who were going to be at the other play group with DS will now be going to this one. Otherwise I'm seeing another one in 3 weeks time.

I've chosen one now, just filled out the forms and gave the deposit this week for him to go to a Montessori playgroup.
