Does ur mw lie on notes?
Does your midwife ever lie on your notes?
I saw mine tue afternoon and im outraged.
Im now 18+1 so when i saw her i was 17+6.
She wrote in the notes she felt baby - she didnt even touch my belly.
Then under the odema box (swelling) she wrote none, she never even asked me !!!
Im so outraged i feel like going the rest of pregnancy alone, ie unnasisted and having an unassited birth.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yes there were times when my midwives commented on things we hadn't even talked about. I don't know about the not feeling your tummy bit, but I'm guessing with the swelling part she would expect you to tell her if you had and the fact that you didn't mention it she presumed to mean you were ok. But you're right, it shouldn't be written down if they haven't checked
Its wrong - i actually made the appt for the exruciating (sp?) back ache ive got and that didnt even make an appearence in the notes !!!
Has anyone else had an unassisted pregnancy and birth here -?
If so id love to chat lol

i saw the midwife twice on my 2nd pregnancy and that was at the beginnin.
she said she was too busy to see me at xmas time so i didnt bother seein her after xmas lol just went to the hospital when i was in labour

It's my humble opinion but I would be scared to death to have an unassisted delivery... so many things can go wrong during delivery. Can you maybe see about getting another MW at this point that you might be more comfortable with?
It just seems like you could be putting you and your baby's health at risk for the sake of an unassisted delivery and it seems you've turned to that option out of frustration with your current MW... I don't know the health care system there so don't know if it's that easy, but I would discourage you from trying to go completely unassisted... home birth, that's another thing... it was something that I considered but changed my mind through out my pregnancy and glad I did because I needed alot of assistance with Aaralyn's delivery

me too I think this is utter maddness, you cannot say what is going to happen during your labour and god forbid anything to go wrong I could never forgive myself, its just not worth the risk
I live in a quiet town, with community midwifes, team of 5 but only 2 circulate my surgery.
My usual midwife who i was ok gettin along with is off sick then due to retire, this mw i had tue is the one thats going to be taking over her and ive already had dealings with her previous pregnancys.
Everytime i see a consultant they upset me telling me i should be in hospital as it is, so having an unassited pregnancy and birth is not madness to me, its an easy life.
With my home birth baby - the labour was 19 hours 35 mins.

How come they're saying you should be in the hospital? If there are already complications it would scare me even more to go unassisted!

first pregnancy resulted in caesarean section (ELSC)
That aparently makes every pregnancy i have a high risk one now.
Doesnt scare me, i went against medical advice for my home birth last time, so in a way im doing the same.

Thaats what ive been telling them for months - no one, absalutly no one listens.
i thought the system was the same up and down the country..
where i live on ur first preg you have....
booking scan @ 8-12 weeks
optional blood test for downs @ 15 weeks
second scan @ 18-21 weeks
midwife app @ 25 weeks
midwife app @ 28 weeks
midwife app @ 31 weeks
midwife app @ 34 weeks
midwife app @ 36 weeks
midwife app @ 38 weeks
doctor app @ 40 weeks
then after that your seen at 41 weeks foe a "sweep" if you've not already gone into labour..
if its your second or more baby then its the same except no midwife app @ 25 or 31 weeks

Up here if it is your second or more baby you see the midwife much less than what you have suggested (unless you are a high risk) My friend saw her MW 4times and then only 3 with her 3rd (thats not counting her 2 scans)
In Edinburgh you only get 1 scan, if you are unsure you get a dating scan at9-12wks if you are sure of dates you get one btwn 16-18 you dont get both unless you are high risk
oh my god, thats terrible (i think)
all that ive just written is off a page out of my maternity notes, they give you it so u know when to book your midwife apps just in case the midwife forgets to tell you. everytime i see the midwife she tells me, i'll c u again at such and such a date so i know to go and book the app at reception.
on each midwife visit they do a urine check, weight, blood pressure, get u on the bed and measure ur tummy, listen to heartbeat and have a good feel to c were baby is lying

I maybe didnt word that last bit right. you still see the MW at Edinburgh (cant remember how often- I changed areas twice when I was pregnant and saw 3 lots of MW) I was trying to say that not everywhere you get 2 scans.
I was booked in at 1 appointment and then I had another for my dating scan. I also so MW a few times before I had my 2nd scan at 24weeks (Moving about)
i just thought it was the same everywhere. im glad i live were i do
So im taking it none of you have had unassisted pregnancies and birth then? x
