Breast Feeding while Pregnant

I am newly pregnant and still breast feeding my 15 month old son. I have had people tell me we should stop. We only do it once or twice a day. Usually when I get home from work, then before he goes to sleep at night. My concern is the health risk to the unborn babies. Yes, I am pregnant with twins! Has any one heared either way from a Doctor?

I havent a clue. I would think as long as you were eating health and looking after yourself it would be ok.

I would check with your doc or Midwife.

I think it is safe because I think some women continue to feed their older child when they start to feed their new born so they must have fed during their pregnancy surely Suspect
Good luck and well done for doing it so long

I have to agree, I don't think it should be a problem but you may need to take some vitamin supplements? I would check with you Dr or MW about it just to be sure.

That's great that you've been able to go so long... my daughter stopped at 8 months her self and I was sad as I wanted to keep going with it Sad Face

BTW, welcome to JP, it's a great site here, stick around and join in when you can

I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem but def better to check with GPor MW.
Congratulations on your pregnancy too, and well done for BF for so long, I've just stopped BF my DD last week and am feeling really quite sad about it now, but I guess 8 and a bit months is still pretty good going.

Generally, it's safe to continue breast-feeding while you are pregnant. As long as you're careful about eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of fluids.

I nursed my son the whole time I was pregnant with my daughter. My son, at the time was around 18 months when my daughter was born. I ended up stopping around the two weeks before I gave birth to my daughter. Just because I did not want to be nursing both at the same time. I didn't have any problems with having enough milk for him the time I was nursing and pregnant. I had no problems when my daughter being born and having a milk supply ready for her. I didn't' have that tenderness of my breasts when the milk came in or tender nipples. It was easier doing it this way, than if I would have stopped and then had to start having so many months in between them.
