brown spotting at 5 weeks

Hi everyone

I had a miscarriage last year at 8 weeks and I guess I knew it was going to happen (although I tried to kid myself) as I stopped feeling pregnant, boobs stopped hurting and the spotting started quite pink.

I am now 5 weeks pregnant and really worried. I went for a wee this morning (sorry if it's too much info ladies) and when I wiped there was a small, but instantly noticeable, amount of brownish looking blood. Nothing else has happened all day but I'm worried sick. My boobs are still ragingly tender and I'm still feeling sick (didn't feel sick last time until about 7 weeks, just before I lost babe). I have an early scan tomorrow but I have been getting little tummy aches and twinges which I had last time.

Anyone else had this and it's been ok?

I guess you'll see I'm looking for a little bit of reassurance - daft huh? Embarassed

Love to everyone
K

I thought that if it was brown blood it meant old blood??

I had a few spots when i was about 6 weeks, i phoned my doctor and he said to keep an eye on it for 24 hours but that no bleeding is considered normal but not all bleeding means miscarrage!

I would maybe phone your doctor, otherwise you will worry yourself all night, you don't want to make yourself stressed,

Sorry if this dosen't help.

Thanks Rhiann

Old blood? I've not heard that before. Admittedly last time the blood was very pink when I MC'd but this was just little brown bits. It's gone for now.

I'm trying to chill out until tomorrow and stay positive. I know you can't do much about it if you are going to MC so I just hope if it is the case, it's over quickly Sad Face

Thanks to everyone. You are a real boost. I've decided I can't do anything until tomorrow so I'm going to put my feet up with a glass of orange juice and a funny film and chill out.

I'll let you know tomorrow how the early scan goes.

good luck for tomorrow hunni Kiss

i had a bleed at 7 weeks - it started as brown blood (like the end of a period TMI sorry) the following day i had a fresh bleed

after that i found out it was very common for women to bleed around the time that a period wouldve been due, or as the girls have said it can be old blood aswell

i then went on to have a large bleed in late pregnancy at 38 weeks and everything was fine

i know its difficult, especially with your history, but try not to worry and stay as relaxed as you can for your scan

everything crossed for you xxx

The little sac is in the right place but obviously they can't see/hear anything else at this point. Another appointment for 2 weeks time when we should hear the heartbeat. I'm feeling so much happier now but will keep you posted Very happy
