baby shower

anyone had one b4?
if so what ya do?
and how was it?
im havin one and ive read all about it and stuff.
seems like alot of money but i think my mum is payin for most of it or so im hopin lol
theres a party pack online which contains everythin u need like games ect but its £55 so my mum said shes gonna downloads free games and try get her own stuff for the party to make it cheaper.

i always thort a baby shower was when u celebrated the fact ur preggers and have a buffet type do at home and everyone buys u gifts (off a list uv previously made - abit like that of a wedding list).
it just saves u buying everything urself - its another american tradition that the UK has inherited.

yep i know and im glad the uk has stolen it hahaha
lol well im not makin a list of gift im just lettin ppl buy what they want more fun in that for them i think lol
im just wonderin if anyone has had one on here cus everyone i know hasnt and everyone i have invited has never been to one lol xxx

Hi hun,i gave my sister a baby shower in febuary this year.I made sure there was food and drinks aplenty and i secretly wrote down all the things my sister needed or hadnt brought yet,as when people started rsvp'ing me they kept asking what she needed so i had a list of small things that wernt to expensive but generaly people just buy what they want.We made up our own games such as ...
The string game,i had a roll of string and each guest had to cut how ever much string they thought would fit around my sisters belly the guests whos string is the closest wins.
Then we had a baby changing race, borrow x2 dolls and x2 singlets x2nappys and x2grow suits who ever dresses the baby first wins.We just gave the winners boxes of choccys.
We then had a baby bottle filled with jelly beans and who ever guessed the amount won it.
My sister then unwrapped all of her prezzys infront of her guests while they had tea,coffee and cakes.
I hope this helps i did it all my self and it came out to well under $150(australian)and we had 50 guests. (my mum and i made all the food)

my friend had a baby shower and one of her friends held it and there was a few of us and we basically and her friend done some nice food like rice and some chicken in fancy sauces and cakes. and then the guys went to the pub to wet the babies head lol and the girls stayed at had foot spas etc

if anyone has had a baby shower or has been to one what gifts did u give to the guests when they won a game??

My friend found some little tiny binkies (pacifier, I forget what you guys call them??) and put them around glass votive candle holders. You could put little blue candles in them for prizes.

I don't know about there, but in the States you can register at a store that has baby things and make a list of things you need, as people buy the items they are taken off the list, makes things very easy that way so that you don't get multiples of the same things.

i no i wish u all could too but no one lives by me so unfair and the ppl that can come is young so they dont have alot of money for me to do a list anyways lol but thanx for ur help xxx

Awwww, I bet it will turn out to be a really great day for you... When my friend had mine for me, I had only been in Rhode Island for about 2 years and had not made alot of good friends up here yet... My Best Friend, bless her, invited some of her friends that I didnt' even know yet (so that there would be more than 3 people there lol) and then I became friends with them too LOL

that last pic with them babies first xmas things - ethans got them! he had em last year - theyre from wilkinsons aint they!

iv hung em on my tree this yr too! and hes got his 1st xmas stocking up on the fire surround with ours!! lol! my MIL said im stupid for having them up! but il have em up every yr as they are apart of my decorations and remind me of my first xmas with my son!!

baby shower? love this one...when i had baby shower i asked my friend to just give me toys that are educational, don't want them to give me bottles or clothes since i'm very particular with brands of these items. i just gave them the site of what i want like the greatkidgifts site love it..
