what do u think of them? would u have one done? im terrified of the things sun beds can do to you and dont really tan in the sun just burn so have a st tropez spray tan instead.just a really light one tho so it looks natural

I thought about using one, until a friend came back from hers covered in streaks and it wore off after 4 days! How often does yours last for?

ive never has that happen thank god! even with bathing everyday it lasts on average 9-10 days

9-10 days, that's better than hers - maybe she got a dodgy cheapie one somewhere then! I'm like you as well - I never *ever* tan in the sun - just burn, or get freckles. I'd love to be able to go golden but it just doesn't happen for me. I've found the Ambre Solaire spray on self-tan to be really good as they do it in a light shade, but more pricey than others at £9ish a bottle.

I also have tried that Johnsons Holiday Sun stuff which everyone loves, but it had a weird effect on me and doesn't really sink in properly, then just rubs off! Leaves me skin feeling almost dirty, so I've stopped using it!

ive yet to get the hang of self tanning sprays, wipes or lotions.i always end up orange and streaky no matter what one i try even the supposedly streak proof ones.id rather pay £20 than look like ive been tango'd lol

I had a spray tan once but it went really patchy & I looked like I had an illness of some sort, have never been again since! I am a user of sun showers to maintain a golden glow, I realise that there are risks to using them but believe that if used occasionally & not in excess I am quite safe! Smile

Do the spray on tans not mark light clothes? Suspect I've been thinking about trying it out as I'm so pale and don't like sun beds

They can do if you put the clothes on before it sinks into your skin properly - I've got a white vest which now has a very vague orangey tinge on the inside, not that noticeable but definitely there. Best advice is just to stand around in the nude (put the radiators on first!!) until it's totally dried, then you should be OK.

im lucky as iv got a all yr round tan - but my mate had one done at the salon by me last week - a st.tropaz for £25 she was told not to shower or wash 12 hours before and 12 hours after!! she also had to wear lose clothing after and they advised her to go naked for the rest of the evening - she came mine after tho and couldnt really do that! she looked quite daft at first as it was so dark but the st.tropaz adapt to your natural skin tone so as the hours went on it started to look nice - altho i thort it was smelly! i kept sayin to her that she smelt like an old lady with cheap make-up on lol!!

I work at a very large spa(salon) we do st tropez and its £29.99. You need to exfoliate and put moisturiser on the day before and of course wax or shave. Then come in loose clothing and flip flops if possible.

THe tan should last 7-10 days. its even and looks great. Clients come back week after week for it.

It takes about 10 minutes to do. I use to use sunbeds but never now as i am light skinned.

You do here of horror stories but luckliy most are chuffed to pieces with it.

Goodluck with it

Nice to hear your opinions. I'm very white and always wanted to have some colour and seem healthier as if I was on the beach but I never had bedtan or sprays because I didn't know about the results. How do I know if it lasts more than others?

I think using the Dove or Garnier tan which you build up, it looks really natural and it smells nice and it is moisturising and doesn't just wash off after one go!
