My Brave Little Soldier

Yesterday at 5.30pm we had a call from the Nursery to say David had fallen and could we go and get him. So we went over to see what had happened. When I walked in, David was sat there, his mouth pouring with blood, he had tried to jump from a log stepping stone, onto another but misjudged his distance and landed on his face! His bottom lip was lacerated, but on further inspection his front right tooth was loose and had come down about 3mm from the root of the gum and the gum was blistered and bleeding, so I scooped him up in my arms and power walked home to the car ( I swear I did this in record time, I was in parent protect mode at this point, I did'nt even feel the weight of him in my arms...feeling that today, oh yeah lol )...anyway, took him straight to the A & E depertment, after a reasonable initial wait of 30 mins to see the duty nurse, we then had to wait to see the dental practitioner there...we were there from 6pm until 9.00pm....he has a ripped gumline on his top teeth, the doc is hopeful that it will heal over time and the tooth should solidify and come out when his other milk teeth do. Just got to hope it does'nt become infected as he will have to have the tooth out. Doc said the tooth will always be slightly longer than the other as they can't push the tooth back up into the gum, we just have to monitor that now....but the most amazing thing is...he's not even 4 yet....and....he did'nt cry, not once! I am so proud of him Love my little soldier! Feel awful when something like this happens, as theres not much you can do to help them. Makes me laugh when other people say - "Well it happens to all Parents"...to which I reply - "Yes, I understand that, but try and remember how YOU felt the first time it happened to your child..."

Anyway, thats the adventure we had yesterday..Proud, Proud, PROUD of my little man! Love Love Love
