Hi just a quick question been for my first aqua natal class this morning, my boss is now saying she will not pay me for it she says i take it as half a days holiday or unpaid. I was actualy only 1 and 1/2 hours late fo work. Can any one advice if you do get paid like normal anti natal classes?

for anti natal you get paid leave but AQUA natal is a lesuire activity and you shouldn't get paid (as far as I understand it) some managers might let you have a leave at their own discretion

I thought it was only antenatal appointments with the midwife/hospital etc you got paid for

I doubt that you should get paid for it. It like asking you boss to pay you while you go swimming if your wern't pregnant!

i went to Aqua Natal classes (swimming for pregnant ladies) & did not get paid. I'm pretty sure you're only entitled to go to antenatal check ups/appointments/scans etc & get paid. Not for any additional leisure type activities that you choose to participate in. I suppose if you go for medical reasons, this may be different.

when I googled and searched and searched that was what I found- you get paid leave for AQUA natal if it is for medical reasons (and MW must provide a letter) other than that it is up to your employee to let you leave at their discrestion

If you only miss an hour and a half of work I'd just take it unpaid, or if you take half a days holiday you may aswell actuallt take half a day off
