What age do kids start losing baby teeth?

Hi

My meg turned 5 in May. Just recently, she's been complaining of sore gums. I've had a look and i couldnt see any redness. she has checkups regularly and cleans her teeth twice a day like a good girl. In fact, she's the one who reminds me if i'm running in a bit of a dizzy, especially at night when all i wanna do is shove her in bed cos she's run me ragged! Wink Naughty

I think its around 6 yrs old but i was just wondering if its possible to start earlier? None are wobbling as far as i can tell, she would've told me. She lets me know if she has the teeeniest paper cut on her finger.. she acts like her finger's gonna drop off so a wobbly tooth would be like a complete major incident Wink lol

LOL!! she sounds so funny and dramatic and cute Smile I think it's different ages, depending on t he kid. I have heard that if they get their first teeth later than average they will lose them later than average, but I don't really know. The little girl that lives downstairs from me lost her first when she was 5, my bestfriend's son will be 7 in august and he's just now lost his top 2, pretty much 1 right after the other. Suspect I hope her little gums feel better though!

yep, meg's a bit of a drama queen at times! lol

She can fall over and hurt herself but she doesnt make a lot of fuss, she can be really quite poorly and she's a real trouper... get the tiniest of cuts and its like ' OMG!!! Shocked ' Wink

She had a tiny cut on her leg once, she was making a right fuss, so i sat her down and said

' do you need an ambulance?.. shall i call a doctor, do you think you're bleeding to death and that your leg's gonna drop off...'

She soon shut up after that! Cool Very happy Wink

obviously i'm not a completely cruel mummy and i do make sure she's ok and has cuddles when she does hurt herself or is poorly Wink

I know I've said it before but she is soooooo much like Aaralyn... I call her drama mama! She'll fall down and kinda hard sometimes and get up and say "I'm ok, I'm alright, don't worry" but same thing with a tiny cut she obsesses over it until it's covered with a bandaid and then it's instantly better LOL.... she did handle this last injury really well though it's bothering her more now I think Sad Face

And you don't have to reassure that your not a cruel mommy Smile you seem like a really good mom to me Very happy

omg are you sure our girls arent related! Wink

I go through boxes of plasters! In fact tonite, i had to put a plaster on meg's finger before she went to bed! Wink I couldnt even see the cut it was supposed to be covering! lol

Meg falls over fresh air and her legs are covered in bruises from her latest mishap, she's not bothered about them! lol

Isaac lost his first tooth just after he turned 5 and has regularly lost them since (costs a fortune in tooth fairy money) so far 8 have come out. and hes almost 8 now.

My eldest started losing at about 6 1/2 and hes lost 3 so far.

I think its generally between 5 and 7 for the first ttoh.

I did hear though that the later they lose them the stronger their adult teeth will be.

I remember losing my first tooth at 5. I was having my milk in reception class and the straw knocked out my very wobbly tooth!

I remember all the other kids getting really excited LOL.
