Advice - measles

Hi all,
Needed some advice - my LO goes to nursery and all of last week she was spending less and less time in her baby room as they were settling her into the next room. Wed, thurs and fri she was in the baby room for no more than 2 hours and then spent the rest of her time in the next room (shes settled brilliantly BTW!).
A little boy has got measles from her baby room. I rang NHS direct and they said 4 days before is when they are most contagious (that would have been thurs/fri). They also said i would really know by the end of this week/beg of next. My problem is - we are due to fy to america on Saturday to visit my sister in law she has a 4 month old baby. If we dont see anything by sat should we still go???
NHS direct says they cant really judge but because i breast fed for a bit i passed on antibodies (she missed the terror of chicken pox in her room last time round).
HELP!!!

I've never known any kid to have measles so no advise there. I just wanted to say that I hope she doesn't get them. They give a vaccination here in the states for the measles. Where are you going to be in the states? I live in Rhode Island.

Thanks guys. I spoke to the girls at the nursery and they reassured me that Elani was no where near him as he only goes tues and wed. Those 2 days she had brekkie in that room and he wasnt there, then she spent the rest of the day settling in her new room so there was no contact. Also she is very mobile where he isnt and she used to do her own thing in the room as none of the other babies were walking yet. So am very reassured now!!
We are off to Philly and then spending a few days in Boston. xx

Oh good, that must be a relief! I hope you have a great time in the US... there is a girl on here from Philly and I'm in RI about 30 mins from Boston so you'll be in between some good forum members while you're over here. If you want pm and I can give you some good tips on what to see and do when you're in New England (boston). Have a safe and wonderful trip Very happy
