David starts First School in September, and we encourage reading and writing, he can write his name now and Mummy, the good thing is he WANTS to do it. No bad thing, I could read and write before I went to first school due to flash cards and reading, a head start is no bad thing at all Smile good luck with it all Mitch.

charlotte is learning to write her name atm and she can write "mum", "cat" and "hat" if i tell her what letters to write but she needs to copy her name still - she is also recoginsing words - the first words she recognised were "NEXT" and "GAP" wonder where mummy shops ! Embarassed but she recognises her name, mummy, adam, thomas, jeff, kelly, tescos Embarassed and a few others that she sees a lot - and i havent taught her much of it just she hears me and DF talking and what shops we go in etc and shes picked them up!

Carlyy will Laugh Rich- but Joseph is keen to learn as well.

Joseph doesn't go to school until next year but will be at nursery this year and can write his name already (he now wants to know how to write his last name!! he can also do mummy) Joseph is very good with his alphabet sounds and can name one or 2 as well and likes to say what words begin with. (think it is because I have had my nose in a books for the last year that he has wanted to as well!!)

Mitch those books are really good (Adams sometimes have them as well at 3 for £5 or something!!) Joseph has a few and we use them alot- just do a page at a time and then let him play and scribble on paper.

Good luck hun
