..to climb the stairs! Shocked

I'd gone upstairs and George gurgled at the bottom of the stairs and crawled back into the front room where DH was. Next thing I know I can hear George gurgling and babbling but very much louder! I opened the bedroom door to find him at the top of the stairs! I shouted my DH and asked if he had brought him up and left him there to which I got a 'No'.

Stair gate at the ready I think! Wink

Go George! Oh you are in trouble now Sarah Wink I dreaded Aaralyn learning the stairs and now sometimes she still asks me if I'll carry her up or down and I tell her she can walk her little legs right up or down all on her own, only if she's sleepin' now will I carry her Love

I kept a gate at the top of stairs and at the bottom where I was living when she learned to walk, even though she didnt try the stairs on her own until long after she walked which was ok with me!

Very happy well done George!!!

I remember the first time Meg crawled up the stairs. We were sitting in the living room, meg was crawling around on the floor. She went over to the bottom stair and got onto that. We were just about to rescue her when she kept going... and going... and going...we were in a state of shock but let her get to the top ( we were behind her at this stage!!). Me and my ex just looked at each other and said ' is she supposed to be doing that yet!!'.. she was 10 months old.. it was a trip to Argos the next day! Wink

I know! We need to get a stair gate for the top and bottom, Charlotte never really tried to get up the stairs so we only ever had one at the top.

The only thing that really worried us was the fact he went up all on his own if he had fallen...its not worth thinking about. Shocked

Here's a little story that might make you feel better. I was vacumming on day on the first floor of the apartment I lived in at the time as I'm hearing sounds coming from upstairs. I realized I had left Aaralyn in her bedroom to play while I vacuumed and had forgotten to put the gate up. Her bedroom door was right at the top of the stairwell. The whole time I was vacuuming she was having run of the upstairs area. All I could think of was OMG what if she had tried to go down by herself. At that point she was walking but had never attempted the steps on her own. Thank God she didn't that time! So, see, we all have little forgetfulls that could have turned into a mishap.

as soon as lulah started to crawl upstairs we all started to show her how to shuffle down on her bottom so she learnt how to get down safely.

we didnt have a stairgate as we always have the doors shut and if she does go upstairs we are right behind her.

its when she starts pushing her sorting cube up against the table and then uses her box of bricks to get to the bookshelf. she is a little mountain goat!!!

Very happy well done George another step to total independence Razz

When Joseph learnt to climb the stairs I taught him how I wanted him to come back down (backwards) so that he didnt get stuck, didnt take him long to learn how to come back down
