School appeal

On July 19th I've got an appeal to try and get DD into the school we want. I'm going to be heart-broken if she doesn't get. I've given some really good reasons and logically I'm thinking they should say yes but equally I know there's a chance it wont go our way. Have any of you appealed before and did you get the schools you wanted? What can I expect on the day? Do they actually talk to you very much,etc?

We had the school appeal today but wont find out until tomorrow if we're successful. I stood my ground and made some really strong points in our favour.I did get abit emotional at one point as my DD has been really upset thinking she can't go to school with her friends; which upset me as I explained this to the panel and my husband was telling me to stop crying I have to ring up at 10am tomorrow and they'll tell me yes or no. I feel it should be a yes but who knows what they'll decide. I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched. I really want this for my little girl though

We had to appeal to get our DD into the school she is currently in. We gave a number of good reasons for her going, but the school couldn't come up with any really valid reason to prevent her access. We succeeded in getting her in. Wish you luck and hope it works out for you.

Was a little worried about back lash from the school for getting her in this way, but the school has been great.

When I got off the phone this morning and told her she screamed with excitement and was dancing around the room. I'm cooking a roast to celebrate we are all SOOOO HAPPY

We went for a walk yesterday and went by the school. I was pointing out to her the playground and class rooms etc and she was so excited. Gotta buy all the school uniform and PE kit now for September. Her uniform is WINTER- grey skirt or dress with white blouse, royal blue cardigan and grey or white socks/tights SUMMER- blue and white striped dress. Have to check on the PE kit, not sure what that is.
She'll look so cute. As she's one of the youngest she'll only be going for mornings to start with, whereas the school she was meant to go to it would have been 8.35-3 which I think is far too long for a child who has just turned 4. Anyway it's all good, got what we wanted

Really pleased for you both. I was so worried that our son would'nt get into our first choice school. I could'nt sleep for the week before, and was sick the morning the post arrived! Luckily he got in (the best school in the county) and knowing that he is going to a good school is making the thought of him going to school a bit eaiser.
