new, need some advice

i can't believe im asking this question but here goes, the past few days i haven't felt quite right so thought what the hell and did a pregnancy test first thing this morning, it came up a very very very faint positive, at first i thought i was imagining it but then i got a friend to have a look and it was definetly positive, so to confirm i did another test this afternoon it was negative now im confused, does this mean that im pregnant or not?

i have already have 4 children so feel a bit silly asking this but with them i had strong unmistakable positive results, exept for with my 4th i never got a positive with her at all, it was a scan confirmed i was pregnant, she was then stillborn that was 4 years ago so now im in panic mode, don't know whether to laugh,cry or see dr and as u have probably noticed im going on a bit with nerves so ill stop typing now.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I think your best bet is to see your doctor. if the urine tests are giving confused results they would be able to organise a blood test which would give you a definate answer. Hope you get the result you want, and sorry to hear about your last pregnancy. Let us know how you get on, always here!! xXx

As far as I know you can get false negatives with pregnancy tests, but not false positives as the test checks for a certain pregnancy hormone.

Go to your GP and get checked out properly - You won't be able to get peace of mind till you do I suspect, regardless of the outcome!

thanx for the advice i called my dr, she wants me to do another test tommorow morning and if it positive go straight in if not then they will make an appointment to do some checks.

thanx again for the advice, did another test and it was definetly positive, so i have to go see a midwife middle of next week, all seems surreal right now, keep looking at the test to make sure i didn't imagine it.
but its real doc not sure how far on i am but said midwife will arrange an ultra sound to check that out.
