Kids moving away

Hi

As you may have seen from some of my other threads my wife is leaving me, and is already involved with another man some 70 miles away from where we live.

She is suggesting that she will move down to the same area as him instead of staying locally, and will be taking the kids with her. I am trying to convince her to stay locally.

The fact that they are about to have me removed from their lives into a very much part-time role I thought would be more than enough pain for them to suffer with. But I would think that being taken away from your friends, schools and hobbies would be enough to push them over the edge.

Does anybody have any experience of this and how it has affected their kids?

you may be able to stop her from taking them far away. I know in the states a father can address that in court and I know mothers who have been ordered to stay with in a certain mile radius of the father for the sake of the kids. My whole family is out of RI and I don't get to see them very often but for me it's more important to keep my daughter near her father for both of their sakes. I am sending you lots of hugs sweety, I know this is gonna be a really rough time but just keep stressing to your children's mom that they are MOST important in this and there feelings are what count the most. I hope it all works out for you in the end. Kiss
