Been to hospital with DS (update)

Had an appointment today as he keeps been ill and had had swollen gland in his neck for 6 weeks.

When we got in to se Doc she said how do you feel with it been the Cancer department I dident even know, I was shocked she said my GP was woried thats why we had been sent to see the Cancer unit

So he had lots of blood tests and saw 3 Docs and they all came to an agreement they wouldent remove the lump today as they were happy he was getting better and that it was shrining and that his blood count was normal, so they are going to see him in 3 weeks and if it is still the same size they wasnt to have it removed and a biopsy done on it.

was so scary there were so many poorly children and babies there and all so brave.

So im prying the lump shrinks in the next few weeks im still in shock i thought it was just a swollen gland

I have to say i think it is terrible that your doctor sent you there without even explaining where you were going or why!

HI hunni, my daughter has had exactly the same thing but it is a swollen lymph node and she still has it 3 years later!!! They also did blood tests and they were all fine.

I know it is hard but try not to get too worked up over it, it probably is nothing. They were going to take hers out if it got any bigger but it just stayed the same size and it was movable too.

Lump is still there but he is not ill have appointment next monday so see what they say

Went to hospital yesterday and after lots of bloods 4 hours of waiting seeing 3 doctors they all said they are happy that its nothing to worry about and not cancerous so he doesnt have to go back, they are going to rite to my GP and if i think it gets bigger and doesn't go down just gets bigger I have to go to GP and he will refer me straight back to them

Sounds like exactly the same as Jordan - shes had her lump for about 2 years now and is not going down but hasnt got any bigger. Glad all is well
