reclaim bank charges
reclaim charges
has anyone tried this with their bank yet? I personally don`t have any charges but i do know someone who fought for this and she managed to claim back over £8000
For those of you who have charges i would recommend you claim them before the banks shut this legal loophole

I'm not going to bother - they only owe me about £120 but if I have to change banks then I would be really screwed cos I have a bad credit rating so would have a bit of a job getting an account anywhere!!
My brother is claiming his and is owed a fair bit - he's already got some back and changed his account first. There is still more to come his way though

I'm just in the middle of reclaiming mine. Still waiting for a reply at the minute.x
My best mate got all hers back plus some compo. They really didn't have a leg to stand on though, they charged her a one point £100 for going 20p overdrawn, then charged her again because £100 charge made her more overdrawn. She knew this was wrong but it has taken her over 4 years to get this money back, plus other charges. She payed off her account and changed banks, to find them writing to her to say they forgot to charge her something before she closed it, so it was still open and gaining more charges because there was no funds in it! As I said it took her years and affected her credit rating but she kept on at them and now has her money back.
I just recently ended up with some charges because we went over our overdraft and missed some direct debits
I rang them up and they refunded me 2 of the charges, one charge they shouldn't have even charged me for

They tried to charge me for a cheque - even though it even said paid on the letter! You have to watch these banks they will try anything!

We just got ours back, we accepted the settlement fee, as the banks are now freezing all claims until the court proceedings have gone through, at which point they may not pay anything back at all, depends on how strong the case is against them. They will find a way to put a stop to these reclaims, that I think we can be certain about.
i did this about 4 months ago,u have to get all of your bankstatements signed and a copy of all of them sinceu have been with the bank...we requested this about 4months ago and still herd nothign! theyre happy to charge us £40 a time but aint so happy when we turn it around!

my hubby did it and got about £150 back

I reclaimed before they put the hold on claiming and i got back £1200 out of £1700 so not bad!! If you are in the same position there is no harm in sending a letter asking for an outline of your charges to start the ball rolling...
