This story, though very sad and I do feel for the parents, could be a very good debate on leaving children alone whilst on holiday (or any other time!!)
I've just read it too. I can't imagine the feeling of desperation that they must be going through!
Charlotte is three too so it kind of wrenches a your guts even more.
I suppose I wouldn't have left her on her own but then we don't know the true cirumstances properly and later on in the report it did say they were on holiday with 8 other families and hotels do baby listening sometimes.
We go away in a caravan most weekends and Charlotte does wander off sometimes to see other people or kids. She has arm bands that we put our details on ie car reg and mobile numbers.
I once lost her in a big shopping centre, I can remember the feeling well, I just thought the worst straight away but she was found in a toy shop about 5 minutes later having the time of her life!!
It must be horrible for the family as all the signs point to her being taken and no one has found her yet. It's a sad sad situation. I hope that she is found safe and well.

I hope that I am wrong and that this is just my overactive imagination, but I can't help thinking that this is going to turn out to be less straight forward than it seems. I heard on the radio that the parents weren't using the hotels babysitting service (statement from hotel manager) and I can't see why you wouldn't use it if it was on offer. I really hope that they find her, I can't imagine anything happening to Millie and I hope that my suspicions are proved wrong.

I think we share the same thoughts on this

i read that they were going back to the apartment every 1/2 hr to check up on her, but i don't know how far away the apartment was from the restautant, or whether there were other children in the same apartment or anything. Its terribly sad, how dreadful for them. I felt sick when i heard. We must pray for them to find her safe & well.

I really hope they find her safe and well. The thought of any child going missing is just stomach churning.
If it were me I would never leave Ethan alone whilst on holiday. If the local pub/restaurant was a 'few hundred yards' from their home in England I wonder if they'd have gone out?
Here's hoping for a happy ending...

OMG How Awful what they all must be going through, I hope she is found safe and well.
I would never leave mine alone, esecialy not in a forign country

The furthest I go is in garden when mine are asleep and I still lock the door

, its just too much of a risk to take.
Im prying for little Madeleine

Fingers crossed they find their daughter soon. I heard they were in a restaurant and hadn't used the hotels babysitting service as they were checking frequently.
I'm totally neurotic with my boys, the eldest is 3 in July and the Youngest was 1 in april. They only get left in the house alone while I go to the bin or hang washing out and i leave the door open so i can hear them and when we're out i make sure the eldest wears a wrist rein so he can't wander off.
We won't take them abroad until they're both older so we use caravans in this country. If the eldest is outside either my husband or myself sit on the steps watching him.
There are loads of parents in this area who let their 2+ year olds out on the street unsupervised.

I wouldnt even dream of leaving my children asleep in an apartment so I could go to a restaurant.
As much as I feel for the parents, I think they were very selfish to do that even if they were popping back every half hour.
I really hope she is found safe and sound, she is such a beautiful girl, I hope nothing nasty has happened to her

i also hope she is found safe and well but i think she or any child shouldnt have been left for ant ammount of time i just hope we havent got another ben on our hands or worse a death
praying for the poor babe

my heart goes out to the people. Yes they have been totally stupid leaving their kids in the room but i still don`t think anyone deserves this to happen to their family.
The police seemingly have an idea who the suspect is and think he had been watching them for days so if she hadn`t went missing when she did it seems likely he would have snatched her from somewhere else.
I hope they find her safe and well for the parents sake as the will never forgive themselves otherwise.
Heart goes out to them, utterly utterly stupid, but still wouldnt wish it upon anyone.
I wouldnt even consider leaving children that young alone.

I feel most for the poor little girl who is going through who knows what, presuming that she is still alive even. Ok,as parents we all make mistakes sometimes but I have to say what they did is no mistake,it's down right disgraceful and if I were them I would blame myself forever.
They are being to think it's the work of a pedophile ring. I hope they have got it so wrong and she is found.
Praying for little Madeleine so much

I am watching the tonight special on this and it is making my blood run cold. That poor little girl, I am really struggling to see a happy ending. Her parents were so stupid to leave her but I wouldn't wish what they are going through on anyone.
