1st birthday cake...

well i know i am no Jamie Oliver.. but i want to make my little girl a first birthday cake.

has anyone got the best recipes for a nice sponge cake as i think the last time i made a cake was at school, and any tips for decorating??

We did a nice simple one for Birthdays when I worked on a nursery.

6oz floour
6oz sugar
6oz butter
3 eggs

mix all together and then cook for about 25-30mins at 190 (fan assisted)

We just then sprinkled it with icing sugar, iced on the childs name and stuck on a few candles

Very simple and the kids used to help make it

Try googling it hun, i made a barbie one for my daughters 6th bday. She loved it! lol
