Is there anything else

My husband and I are planning to try ivf early next year. Doctor told me to stop smoking . A quick internet search on egg quality also said to lay off the caffeine. Is there anything else I should be avoiding?? (Like there's anything left) With the high cost of ivf (our insurance covers none of it), I don't want to do anything that would decrease our chances for success. I don't drink alcohol. Thank goodness for that. Giving up smoking, coffee, soda and antidepressants is quite a lot already!

Hi dear,
It is true that IVF is an expensive and delicate exercise and so you need to be cautious if you want to benefit from the process. Smoking, alcohol, and caffeine are some of the things that should be avoided if you want to emerge victoriously. Also, there is a host of other things you should avoid after the transfer of the embryo. You should not drink fizzy drinks in the first 12 days until the pregnancy has been confirmed. By extension, it implies that you should not eat gas foods because they can upset your stomach and lead to stomach contraction and crumbs which lead to miscarriage. You should also avoid intercourse for 14 days. If you love going out, avoid going to public pools, saunas or any other places where you may expose your body to bacteria. Also, you must avoid exercises or rigorous activities which may expose you to dangers. However, you may walk around and engage in light aerobic exercises. You must also minimize using medication unless it is prescribed by the IVF doctor.

I think this is really great you quitted all that stuff! None of us needs all that. Those things only damage our health. I think it would be nice for you to start eat healthy, take some vitamins and do some exercises. And of course don't forget about positive mood! I know sometimes this is really hard to be positive. But I read some research where scientists claim that positive mood influences TTC and pregnancy in a really good way. Also I read that when we think about good stuff we send vibrations to the universe and get what we want in return. I don't know if this is true but I really hope it works somehow. All these will definitely help you to prepare for your IVF. I wish you best of luck with your upcoming procedure!
