The annoying things people tell you when you're pregnant

Ah, this was the bane of me and many pregnant friends existence - when people don't know how to say nice things to you when you're late in the game of pregnancy!

Things like "Oh, you look like you're about to pop!!" or "are you SURE it's not twins?" (yes, every single ultrasound has plainly shown only one child, but thanks for telling me I look enormous!) and things like that!

Did anyone give you any comments late in pregnancy (or any time during your pregnancy, really!) that made your eyes roll and made you have to restrain yourself from barking something back at them?!

I also found complete strangers most likely to say these things! Gahhh! So frustrating!

I understand you so much. It was so bad I had to avoid people when I was almost due, they all seemed to know too much. Either they thought my bump was too small and I was not eating well enough or I was too active and should slow down.

Many women who have experienced childbirth seem to be too knowing just because they have been there. I feel they should give the new mother some space to experience it her own way.

Yes!! I know what you mean. Hahaha it's like yea I know I will soon be having a baby don't got to remind me every single time you see me or notice the joys pregnancy has done to me. I already know even though people mean nothing bad by commenting on it. It's just another thing that comes with the pregnancy package. Smile

I don't get these negative comments, as my tummy is usually not too big, even if I'm about to deliver. Moreover, I think at least people around me do not say those annoying things to a pregnant lady, perhaps of some "taboos". Perhaps I am also a stay-at-home mom, so I just go to the park more often, but no where else.

Some people just do not understand how blessed we are to get pregnant and give birth, so it doesn't really matter how I look. Just ignore those annoying people and words, and enjoy ourselves.

Yup - I think that's good advice, it's good to be able to just focus on yourself and your pregnancy! I think as long as you're healthy that's the most important thing. Sometimes I also think people don't realize that what they are saying could be taken as rude, and they're probably just trying to be polite and make conversation.

Well, there's the birthing horror stories. Never helpful and just make pregnant women fearful of birth which is the worst headspace to approach it in.
