How quickly did you start showing?

I've only had one child, so I didn't really start showing until well into my second trimester, probably around 20-22 weeks! But I have plenty of friends who have had 2 or 3 children now, and you could tell they were pregnant by around 9-10 weeks! As one friend said to me, "my uterus has done this before, it knows what to do!"

What about you? When did your tummy start looking more pregnant and not just like you had a big llunch?!

For my daughters I didn't show til I was pretty much 6 months before I got the all famous baby bump. But now with my son I have been showing since four months. No pregnancy is the same as the last. Biggest problem with being pregnant is finding clothes that fit.

Oh yes...I actually hated shopping for maternity clothes! I didn't really find anything that fit my style, you know? And there was LOADS of stuff in my local stores with horizontal stripes, which only served to make me feel bigger than I already felt...why do the manufacturers of maternity clothes do that?!

I didn't start showing until I was about 7 months along and I am pretty small. Oh man though when I did start to show it was like I grew so rapidly and I was going to just rip open.

This question gives me a memory that makes me smile now, but it sure didn't then! I read way too much pregnancy literature... and I took it all to heart. That was a big mistake! No one had bothered to tell me how different each pregnancy is...

So when I wasn't showing yet at 4 months, I freaked out. And when there wasn't much of a difference at 4.5 months, I was still freaking out. Pretty well convinced that something was wrong and it kept me in a grip of terror for quite a while.

I finally started showing (but still not a whole lot) around 5 months. I relaxed a little bit, but never fully. When my daughter was born 5 weeks early, she just weighed 4 lb. 13 oz. and suddenly I knew why I didn't have much of a baby bump.

I started showing around 5 or 6 months. I had such terrible morning sickness during my whole pregnancy. The first trimester was the worst and I lost weight. It is amazing how much the belly grows during the 7th and 8th month!

Well, my pregnancy was a bit of a surprise for us. We didn't really know that I was already pregnant for maybe the first two months since I do get delays in my period sometimes. However, I did experience the symptoms of nausea and vomiting so we did get suspicious. The first few months, maybe up to the fifth month, not a lot of people noticed my tummy.

It was my husband's aunt who finally took notice of my tummy. At that time, I also noticed that it's getting bigger although not as big as pregnant women at that stage of the pregnancy. I think it was only during the sixth month that it became noticeable that I really am pregnant. And at that time, we have admitted the pregnancy to both our families already.

With my first pregnancy, I started showing during my 20th week. I guess it's the same for most new moms. Even my friends who were a bit on the heavy side didn't really show until their second trim. But with my second one, I think I was obvious by the 16th week.

I started noticing changes right away, but beyond looking like I was gaining a bit of weight, I didn't start showing till around 6 months. I just got a little wide before that.. then BOOM, my tummy got huge lol. My boys were way too big for my little body lol.
