Bug hunt and suggestion box

Hey all! Great to see so many new members and we're really pleased to have you on board and part of the community!

I thought I'd take this opportunity to ask people old and new to JustParents to keep an eye out for any bugs or problems with using this site, or areas you feel we could improve, simplify or change. Whilst we can't please everybody all of the time, we do appreciate any and all feedback and will try and accommodate the wishes of the members!

The returning you to your thread now thingee is still not working....but then again you probably know that-heeheee

Also like I PM'ed you-would be nice while reading a thread to know who is online and who is not. Some icon or the word offline , online next to their name on the posts themselves.

Also, after I post and I am the last person to post, still shows me that it is a new post that I didn't read. Gotta have it recognize that if I posted something last then I read the thread.

When I try and use the jump to bottom button (which is a really good idea) it jumps to the home page instead which is less useful

Notice there's some spammers. How about a
'report abuse' link on each thread to report spammers, trolling etc?

Spammers are reported to their Internet Providers as soon as their post is put on. I got my eye on those low lifes

I keep getting (since I joined) a blinking banner along the top that comes and goes and tells me congrats I am the 999,999,999..... visitor.....

I believe those are sponsor links, you don't have to click them, they are just there as advertisments, not bugs

dont know if it my computer or if you are tinkering Rob but the pages ar not always loading tonight and it is taking ages when they do load. Every other site I am using is fine

Alex, I've had the same problem tonight too! It's happened a couple of times before, firefox just timed out on me each time but was fine on other tabs looking at something else so wasn't my connection.

I discovered the slow page issue (I think!) - another bloomin advertiser which I've had to disable. You'd think they'd make sure they don't slow down your site - after all they're paying to help run this place on the basis that they can sell some of their stuff!

Noababy - let me know if that also gets rid of the annoying advert you've been seeing. I suspect the two issues are related

ummm how to explain....

when you click New Forum Posts a list of all the recent posts comes up - good stuff.

When you read the post it is still on the list, but isn't highlighted, good stuff.

When you reply to the post then go back to the list of new forum posts, your own posting is marked as unread, which is a bit silly...

Yeah, I'm aware of that bug.. currently have absolutely no idea how to fix it though!

It's on the squish list though

Ok, I think I've fixed this now! Can people let me know if it's working correctly for them? When you reply to a topic, it should no longer flag that topic as unread.
