My latest exercise fad

So on top of the gym and cycling I have added a new hobby to my exercise regime. I've started climbing!!

I did some when I was younger, in the Scouts. And more recently with my brother and sister, who were really into it. It seemed like a good social activity and works muscles that you never realised you had. So I am now a member at Boulders in Cardiff and really enjoying it. It is far more socialable than the gym because you have to work with somebody when you're climbing.

Awsome Owen!! Its good that you have something different to keep fit other than the gym. Do you climb quite high?

My hubby climbs. He's just getting back into it following a back problem but when he's at his peak of fitness he is really strong, toned and his stamina improves when he climbs lots. The great thing with climbing is there are always so many new challenges, not like sitting in the gym on an exercise bike doing the same repetitive thing! Good luck, I'm sure you'll feel really good when you've been doing it a while.

I'm finding it great fun, and it is quite a socialable club. Beers after climbing on a Thursday evening! Can feel it making a difference even after only a couple of weeks.

Define high? I get to the top, which is perhaps 15m or so up. A reasonable height for an indoor wall but not hugely high. Another excuse for me to head up to Scotland is that there is meant to be an amazing centre near/in Edinburgh with 30m high walls and some real rock as well.
