My downstairs neighbour

My downstairs neighbour has asked me to stop my 2 year old from running around so much as he says all he keeps hearing is bang bang bang, where she is running around.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can stop her doing this? I have tried telling her to stop running around, tried putting her in front of a DVD, I have tried explaining to her that we have downstairs neighbours but it doesn't seem to be working.

When you tell her not to run around do you punish her when she doesn't listen and does it anyway? I assume when you go outside you have a method to keep her close, have you tried that inside?

I have tried to punish her, but she doesn't listen I keep telling her off for running around in the house and jumping. I have explained to her that we have people living underneath us. But nothing seems to work. I tend to get her to hold my hand when we are outside. or make sure she stays close to me if she is on her bike.

So sorry you are haivig this problem. I have never had this experience as I refused to move into a flat when we got offered one because I refused to have to keep my child back then only had RB sat still so neighbours below couldn't complain. I am a very storn gbeliever that for our children to grow to there full-potentail they need to be able to run about as much as they want to. Yes with rules and boundries and punishment if any fo them are broken but they are children, full of energy and life that they need to burn off. Could you ask you council to put you on a transfer list for a house with a garden. This way you will be able to let your daughter run about and not have the problems of complaining neighbours. The rent isn't that much more than a flat for a 2 bed-house.

I have only just moved in about 4 weeks ago and go for a transfer until I have been here for a year. Which is a little annoying.

As the kids have nothing to do than to play to burn their energy.
i know it would be a little disturbing for the neighbor but you can make him understand how can a little child be kept tied.
a kid is not a pet which could be tied with a string...!
