So like, I know most of us live in the UK, but we have international members as well, so I thought maybe (out of extreme boredom), we could introduce our area to everyone.

I live in Aberystwyth well, about a fifteen minute drive away.

We have the first Welsh university but we now have a modern university campus too.

We have a steam railway that leads to Devil's Bridge where a Welsh woman outwitted the devil, hmmmm.

We have the lowest crime rate in the UK, there are 14,000 residents, 8,000 of those are university students. The only celebrity we have is Charles Bronson, the UK's most violent criminal...

We have the UK's longest cliff railway the thing is made from plywood, doesn't feel very safe!

All our signs are in English and Welsh, which confuses a lot of tourists, especially a lot of international tourists who don't realise Wales has its own language.

Our bay, Cardigan bay is thriving with wild life, dolphins, seals, leather back turtles who travel all the way from the Caribbean, whales. We have many Ospreys and Red Kites, that love eating small dogs Sad

We used to be the capital of Wales, then everyone realised we are Censored compared to Cardiff. The B4574 to Rhayader has been voted one of the top ten scenic routes in the world.

We are from Southampton.
The city represents the core of the Greater Southampton region, and the town itself has an estimated population of 231,200. The city's name is sometimes abbreviated in writing to "So'ton" or "Soton". Southampton is noted for being the home of the RMS Titanic, the Spitfire and more recently a number of the largest cruise ships in the world.
According to government figures Southampton has a higher crime rate than the national average.[88] In the violence against the person category, the national average is 16.7 per 1000 population while Southampton is 39.4 per 1000 population and in the theft from a vehicle category, the national average is 7.6 per 1000 compared to Southampton's 26.4 per 1000. Overall, for every 1,000 people in the city, 182 crimes are recorded.[88] In August 2008, a Home Office crime report showed that Southampton is the 3rd most dangerous city in the UK.

I live in Norwich home of the Canaries and one of the few places with 2 cathedrals 1 catholic and 1 church of England.

We live 20 miles from the Norfolk Broads and 40 minutes from Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, (home of the blue flag beach).

Norfolk is flat, not used to hills!!!!

And also Great Yarmouth is home to the late great Admiral Nelsons birthplace.

Anna Sewell who wrote Black Beauty was born in Norwich, and also Barclays Bank was also founded in Norwich and home to the Gurney Clock which was commissioned to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the bank.

It was originally known as the Gurney Bank, after its foudning Member.

Marie Curie was buried in the grounds of the Cathedral and Elizabeth Fry who i beleive is featured on the back of a £5 note was born and raised in Norwich, and has a road named after her in the city.

I think thats all!

Oh and forgot to mention we are also about an hrs drive from Sandringham Home of the Queen and the Royal Family

Born in Cardiff, I have lived in a few other places but I am finally back home in Cardiff. Cardiff is the Capital of Wales, but based on Sam's description of Aberswyth I will have to travel up there some day.

My little boy loves steam trains, as do I, and the wildlife sounds great for photography.

Cardiff is home to the Millenium Stadium the home of the Welsh rugby team, and somewhere I like to attend when I can.

Still need to work out what is where since it has changed so much in the past 10 - 15 years, but Cardiff Bay is worth a visit. Since the barrage was built it has revived the area and you can walk around areas that featured in Dr Who and Torchwood.

I live in Adelaide South Australia, its the most dry state in Australia. It is also known as the city of churches.I live close to the barrossa valley (our wine region). If you drive an hour out of Adelaide you get to Victor harbour where in winter you can see the whales from the bluff (a huge big hill/rock that has thousands of penguins living in it.There is a bridge that you can cross by horse and cart to get to granite island (very pretty with fantastic views).
I live right in between the city and country so i get the best of both worlds.I think we are also known as the murder capitol Shocked (creepy i know)but i love living here.
