So I've realised

I'm getting fat/ I am fat. I weighed myself at work today, 14 stone 5 lbs, which makes a BMI of 27.7 Tell Off

Basically since we moved in August, we've both been really lazy only Frank hasn't been eating rubbish like I do everyday at school, bacon and cheese toasties are too hard to resist. So since August I've gained almost two stone and I can't even pretend any of it is muscle either.

So today at school the least fattening looking thing was lasagna, so I settled for that, but it all looked pretty bad so I'm going to start taking my own food. Tonight for tea we've got salmon and vegetables, no cream sauce like normal.

I don't really have that much time for exercise, so I thought that as its summer I would start cycling to school, it would take about half an hour, but there are showers at the school gym I can use. Frank has been looking after the garden and allotment bit, so I'm going to take over from that. I'm not sure what else I'm going to do exercise wise yet though.

I need to get down by at least 24lbs Sad

14 stone 5 lbs, in my dreams!! I was 12 stone 7 lbs when I went to Uni. Even with all the exercise at the gym and healthy eating I've only lost 1 stone in two years. 14 stone or below is my target, but I am 6ft 1 and have put on a fair bit of muscle at the gym (or so I'm told).

I'm sure with an hour of cycling each day you'll notice the difference. If you get up early now and again then you can add a few minutes on in the morning, or tag on a bit on the way home to give you a bit more. Plus you can vary it by changing the gear that you use, so sometimes it will be hard, slow pedalling and other times fast easy pedalling. The changes will help.

Eggs for breakfast help (poached or boiled) as they are a good source of protein and keep you fuller for longer. Likewise soup is good at keeping you fuller for longer than a solid meal.

Oh bless you Samuel. I was 14stone 7.5 in April last year, joined Slimming World and got down to 13 stone 2lbs by June 2nd, went on Holiday to Rhodes came back pregnant and weighed back in 2 weeks after Gabriel was born at 13 stone 9. Went for a couple of weeks, then fell back into the trap of drinking wine and eating out. Went up to 13st 13lbs again, but re-joined 3 weeks ago and am now 13st 7.5.

I'm walking to school and back twice a day which is about 40 mins of fast paced walkingpushing a stroller and takking the dogs for an hours walk everyday - which really is helping me.

I never seem to be able to 'fit' in any exercise, as i'm always doing something with / for the children. But i really need to.

I need to lose a fair bit - about 3/4 stone.. Embarassed I'm only 5ft 3.5 and to be in the healthy range i need to be about 9 stone Shocked

Slimming World has changed how we eat, not necessarily what we eat (although i do use substitutes for certain thngs, ie fat free creme fraiche)

Oh and drinking lots of water and green tea is certainly boosting my weightloss. For breakfast i tend to have a huge bowl of fruit (melon, mango, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries etc) and i usually follow that with poached or boiled egg on toast. Sometimes i just have a yoghurt with the fruit and don't feel hungry until lunch. And most of the time i have Bacon and Mushroom Omelette or Jacket Potato and Beans, or a Slimming World homemade quiche (which i used to take to work for lunch with salad)

Good luck xx Hug

little tip, use a smaller plate and fill it, it will look full and fool your tummy and eat slowly, it fools the brain into thinking its fuller quicker.

It works, ive lost half a stone in 3 weeks just doing that.

And i havent changed my diet at all! Love

Remember to drink lots of water too. It helps make you feel fuller for longer and flushes out all those toxins that make us crave sweet carbs. Easier said than done if you're not much of a water drinker. I buy sugar free cordial which helps me get back into good water habits if I've been a bit slack for a while.

Any new activity will be helpful too. Just stick with it.
Good luck. Thumbs Up

That's good going!! Progressive as it should be, they say any more than 2lbs a week is not healthy. I'd settle for 2lbs a month, just any progress would be nice. Sorry, just jealous!! Thumbs Up

All peppers are good, the capsicum helps to boost the metabloic rate. I put chillies in a lot of my food too. I like Indian food a lot, but probably find Thai food better at clearing the system and is hot without being overbearing like some Indian food can be.

Can't wait to get home to be able to cook something up now. I'm working at my old house trying to get it ready for renting and lack just about everything including a fridge here so meal choices are limited unless I eat which I am trying to avoid.

You are doing so well keep going. I can't wait to join you all here on my weight-loss mission. I have at least 4 stone to loss in 2 years. My target is 4 stone away but anymore will be a bonus. I ma at present 13 and a half stone, and I am only 5 foot. I can't eat chilli's I'm allergic to them but I do like eating peppers they seem OK to eat

Hey Samuel

Don't worry about your weight - you will make yourself very unhappy and this can be counter-productive to motivation.

Drink plenty of water - a good healthy breakfast everyday and cycle everywhere. It's a lot of fun

All the best

Lau
