This does make appalling reading. The fact that she hid the body for a long time just makes it 10 times worse.

thats sick...How could she do that to her own child.. why not just hold a funeral for her instead of dumping her near a river...as she got no heart

That poor woman must have been in sock to have a still born baby.
I am sure the trama of it lead her to make bad choices.
I am not angry with her at all, in fact my heart goes out to her.
Her Midwife failed her in a terrible way.

Im sorry but who on this world dumps a baby in a river, in shock or in no shock you just dont do it.
This baby might have survived had she made the relevant calls but no she just dumped the baby like it didnt mean anything.

My heart certainly doesnt "go out" to her

i think its terrible a person can do something so awful, a funeral would of been dignified for this poor baby and respectful.

there are 100's of poor woman out there who's babies have died, they didnt think i know i'll dump the body somewhere, they did it properly with a dignified, rspectful funeral, so they could say goodbye.
and not knowing she was pregnant in the 1st place is NO excus either, that happens to 100's of woman to and they make wonderul parents!

There are no exuses for this kind of behaviour.
I think its these kind of peole that dump a baby in the river dead or alive...

OK my first thought was to pass this post by and not respond, but I am here so I am going to try to clear up what I meant. Please remember these are my thought and ideas and not meant to offend any member or guest.

Our world is turning into a culture of death, a sad scary place where many women feel that getting pregnant is horrible and will ruin their lives. In this me me me centered culture of death we live in there are the rare sad and terrible cases like this one where women like Rachael Davies do unspeakably terrible things to helpless babies.

I never once spoke in her defence and I find her choices and actions to be terrible.

After carrying a baby she felt trapped by that child was stillborn. Where was the babies father? Where were her parents? None of us are truly alone in this world, the fact that she felt trapped in a corner and her stillbirth and Post Natal Depression and shock lead to these events reflects poorly on all the people in her life. Each and every person who could have asked her how she was feeling or alike.

I just can not be angry with anyone who see no way out of a situation, as a Mother myself I see it as my job to teach my children that they always have the choice to make good judgement calls in their life. Where was Rachael Davies Mum?

In a world where falling pregnant can be seen as terrible and abortions kill more people than murder and war everyday, Rachael Davies' twisted disposal of her infants body should not be approved of, but Rachael Davies' situation should be seen as a part of the greater big picture.

When you allow abortion to any who ask for it your on a slick slope down to Roman times when babies bodies littered the streets of the world, to meet the needs of the me me me centered Romans.

OK I will step off my soap box now. Again please keep in mind opinions are like a$$ holes because everyone has one, and this is my opinion. I do not mean to defend this persons actions, and I hope you can respect my having my say.

You mention pregnancy and feeling sorry for her - why feel sorry for her? I do not get it.

It is a well known FACT that sex = Pregnancy.

If she didnt want a baby or didnt want pregnancy to spoil her what ever then she shouldnt have done it.
Everyone knows this.

Im sorry but i still dont feel anything for people like her, every baby deserves a DESCENT send off reguardless of how and where the baby died.

I think you are sticking up for her in many ways and i must say that does post natal depression take effect that quick does it??

me including..my daughter was still born, and she had a very good send off, and every1 got to say there goodbyes properly.
it makes me sick reading this, there is NO excuse for her doing this regardless of post-natal depression or anythin like that. THERE IS NO EXCUSE TO DO THIS TO YOUR
CHILD!!!! she should be locked up and throw the key away.

Although I admit some people act stupidly when grieving or shocked but to put the body in a bag?
Surely your first thought if the child wasn't breathing would be to get to hospital to save it quickly?

Perhaps an ignored pregnancy?
Of course we don't know the circumstances of how she became pregnant.
