I was born with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and I am currently expecting a new addition to my family for the first time. I am a little nervous that i might pass on my disease to my child. If I do i dont know how i'll handle it. Any tips?

I think speaking to your MW and or GP is the best bet.

Yep, as Alex says, make sure you talk through any concerns you have with your assigned medical professionals. Your midwife should be able to inform you on the risks of you passing this illness on. She should also be able to inform you of coping mechanisms if it is a high risk. Don't forget you have been there yourself and this alone will give you the sympathy and patience needed to help you child if it turns out to be the case Xx

I agree with the above hun, talk to your MW. I'm not too sure its something they would be able to know until after baby is born but I'm sure they can probably give you a heads up on what to expect and maybe they can put some measures into place.

I'm hyper mobile, as are both my brothers. There are signs that my children also have it, my son especially.

Don't be hard on yourself either hun xx
