Really itchy, flakey scalp!!

I wasn't really sure if this should be here or health & beauty, so if its wrong just move it

My scalp is soo itchy (and now sore) and it looks like a snowfall when I comb it I've found a shampoo I can actually use which helps my frizzy hair and stop it being too greasy, but my scalp doesn't like it! Does anyone know of some sort of conditioning treatment I could buy that would help?

I'm sick of scratching and I'm worried people will begin to think I've got nits LOL!!

I hear your pain Sarah!!!! I am bothered by dermatitis on my head and it is horrible (don't know how Psorasis sufferes cope)

I have to use TGel for mine but if it gets bad I get stuff from the GP.

Ask your pharmamcist if they can help, I dont have a clue (i just wash with my shampoo and use my normal conditioner)

i had a special shampoo on prescription, go see the dr and get it i cant remember what it is, but if you go and see them they may be able to give you something for dermatitus

George had a shampoo from the chemist for his eczema, it smelled like creosote but it seemed to help. I might have to get some of that.

for you, my friend suffers with dermatitis on her hands and she has to wear gloves filled with cream to bed, it must drive you crackers

You poor thing. It is horrible! I had a scalp infection a couple years back which i had to go on anti-biotibs for but it caused big welts and scabs and my hair was stuck to my head in placesit was so bad. After the infection had gone i was still left with a scabby, flaky scalp. The GP prescribed Capasal (smells like cold-tar soap) it worked wonders even if it did smell nasty. You can buy it over the counter too but it is wuite expensive (although if you are paying for prescription at the mo there prob isn't much in the price) I had a mat exemption card at the time so was better to get it on prescription.
