that was crap cos his name is on the birth certificate he gets full parental rights meaning if izzy needs to go on long term medication like ritalin for adhd i need his permission i can be involved about schools and stuff and if izzy in the care of her grandparents he can legally walk in and take her away and theres a strong chance the police wont even do anything and if i want to move abroad i need his permission on everything... Evil or Very Mad

I guess it's different there than in the states (and it varies from state to state here). Aaralyn's dad is on her birth certificate too but because we were never married, I have full parental rights to her, he has none, legally he would have to take me to court if he wanted that changed. I don't need his permission for anything for her as far as he's concerned.

What happens if he's ordered to pay a certain amount of child support and then doesn't pay??? Can he then lose his parental rights?? From the sounds of it he's not going to be too keen on paying child support regularly so I would not let it end on just the advise that this solicitor gave you. Also, keep documentation of every abusive thing he says or does to you from here on out.

Is your solicitor going to represent you in court??

Oh hun!
I'm sorry you didnt get the answers that you want. I'm guessing you have a strained (to put it nicely) relationship with your ex and need to sort boundaries etc. What else did the solicitor say? Anything formal you can do?

until he gets a solicitor himself and the solicitor contacts me the only thing she can do is send him a letter saying that of how i want contact to be where he has her etc i.e 1 day a month at his parents house and then extend to 2days at his parents house and 1 of the 2 afternoons to spent at his new gfs place to get to know her and her child etc but there nothing i can do until he starts threatening me again or gets a solicitor himself
