green wall: great affordable and easy

I don't know if this fits in to entertainment or the green forum.
i love to watch The Worlds Greenest Homes. Today I saw one house on the show where these people had a green wall. This a wall that you plant a climbing plant on a lattice inside your home. Plants have air purification qualities and can freshen up and take out most of the harmful chemicals out of the air in your home. It also lowers the temperature in your home by about several degrees.

I wonder if that would cause dampness on the walls?
I know at my grandparents farm thay had a climbing plant on there wall outside they left it there for a few years (it did keep that section of the house cooler.They had to chop it down as it caused dampness in the wall and it started weakeneing it (the house wasnt old)i wonder if it would do that inside?

You gotta put something waterproof behind the plant. like plastic or a stainless metal.
