Breastfeeding and expressing

I'm planning to breastfeed this time (all being well) but also would like to express too so Mike can join in and do feeds.

My question is really daft so forgive me!

If I feed from one side at a time, would I express from the other side? Then what happens at next feed, with the expressed breast have enough milk for baby?

Last time I just expressed full time as Jas wouldn't breastfeed due to being premature so I used to do both sides each time. With wanting to breastfeed this time and express too, I'm confused... Shrug

express from the opposite side to last feed then baby will feed again on the same as before. (ie feed right, express left, feed right.) its all just about releiving the pressure really.

aparently the best time to do it is in the morning whilst baby feeds off other side

I had an over abundance at the beginning because she was tiny and didn't latch on for a while so I expressed every time I filled up (that was often!!) and kept the breast milk frozen... I honestly can't remember now how I did it after she latched on.... I know that after a while the expressing machine stopped working and my boobs would only give up the milk for Aaralyn Shrug
