My daughter was diagnosed with a global development delay. The delay has to do with motor skills and speech. However, it does not matter what she is diagnosed with. What matters is getting her caught up. The school won't wait for dialysis so see if there is a tutor or language councelors in her school or neighborhood. Some schools offer free programming pending on where your located. My daughter could have ADD or dyslexia which are found in her family. Me and my mom have even noticed she requires more independence and less babying than what I was told by professionals, though. And speech theropist will only mark what they see and hear at the appointment which can be fustrating when they mark your child as having difficulty in an area you know his is doing in.
Don't worry, she's made it this far and she can make it the whole way. Thumbs Up

oh, there are some ways you can help her keep her intellegnce;

keep her away from coca cola. there are chemicals in those drinks such as Phenylalanine, which causes irreversible brain damage, addiction and death. And Sodium Benzoate which can decrease a childs I.Q by 5.5 points and is linked to hyperactivity and decreased intellegence in children.

Cook lots of salmon and other fish. and lots of fruits and different colored veggies.

Buy some of those math and reading work books. Start getting her exposed to different subjects as she will be starting science and social studies, etc. This will ease the transition so she will know what to expect.

My advise? Hang in there as you're probably going to be on a very long and bumpy ride.

I knew there was something different about Ana when she was 18 months old. It took until she was 9 to get a diagnosis of Austism.
