I applied and got a job when I was pregnant - I never told them until after they offered me the job.

Good luck

Leave it until the interview, if they dont ask on the application then it doesnt need to be written, altho when they find out either way some people would rather not employ as you will be taking time out

Depends how far gone you are up to 3mnths leave it but say as soon as you have been offered the job as you can then say "oh yeah just found out i was pregnant" over 3mnths especially if you are showing tell them straight away you nor them want to be mucked around

You should what untill your employed. I don't know what the employment laws are like in the U.K. But in Canada it's illegal to fire a woman because their pregnant. You still have to watch though. My friend took a job at A&W and when she told her manager she was pregnant he fired her. Unfortunatly, she was young and didn't know he couldn't do that.
Just know your rights and everything will come together.

It depends how desperate you are for the job hun. I have tbh and say if it was me i probably wouldn't tell them until after i'd got the job. Bad!
I used to employ people and i must confess if i had two people attend interviews for the same job that were on a par with experience and education and i thought they would both be able to do the job, if one was pregnant and one wasn't then i would hire the non-pregnant one as it means you don't have so many things to deal with. ie. replacement during maternity leave, risk assesments etc. Embarassed I'm not saying i wouldn't have hired a pregnant woman at all. If she was best for the job then so be it, but you would be at a disadvantage. Also it is worth bearing in mind you wouldn't get maternity pay from that job as you have to have been working there before you conceived to qualify although you would qualify for government maternity pay. It's illegal in the US to discriminate against pregnant women too, as far as hiring or firing but it would still lower your chances of getting the job next to someone with the same credentials who is not pregnant. It's illegal but it happens all the time Rolling Eyes

I'd wait until you were offered the position and they ask you if you have any time that you know you would need off.... then you could say that you're pregnant at that point... jmho... good luck hun!

While employers can't discriminate, they can make things so tough that you'll leave. Also worth remembering is that most jobs these days have a probationary period so they can see how well you fit in. After this time, and you being pregnant, they will probably find some non pregnancy reason to get rid of you. As long as they don't come right out and say it's because you are pregnant and it's suring your probationary period then you really don't have a leg to stand on.

I totally agree with the person that said if they had two candidates, same experience etc and one was pregnant then the job would go to the other one.

Employers want people who will work, not someone that is in the door 2 minutes and looking for mat leave. Sorry to be blunt, but I think you're damned if you do tell them from the start and damned if you don't till you have the job as then they just think you a liar.

Just my opinion though and people will probably not agree with it.

It's hard but if you look regnant tell them as they will wonder why you are hiding it.
