I've never heard of this? What kind of condition is it?

Wishing you good luck that it's not anything really serious Hug

I know a small amount. I think it can affect children differently. It depends where it is tied. Thet don't always do anything to change it. Sometimes if it is causing problems with feeding etc. they 'snip' the piece of skin holding it. This can be done under local anaesthetic at the local surgery apparently? I think they tend to do it when the baby is quite small though? Sorry can't be any more help? Is the 'tie' causing any problems? Xx

Difficult to tell if it causing him problems yet. He's never had problems breastfeeding but he can't have a bottle (or won't!). He isn't talking at all though so there could be issues with speech. He's 11 months now and he still makes only sounds like ba ba ba ba ga ga ga ga etc. But then early walkers are often late talkers so....

Yep hun, you are right with the talking thing. I'm sure he will be fine and 11months isn't unusual not to be talking! My dd started talking really early and has a huge vocabularly now, but she didn't start walking until she was just gone 18mths. I think they concentrate on one thing at a time and your little one is obviously more into mobility at the moment! My ds is already behind his sister for talking. She was saying mama and dada at his age but he is crawling and in to everything which she wasn't?

I have known a couple of people who's children had this and one didn't need any treatment the other had to have the tie snipped, but that was because her LO wouldn't (couldn't) feed. She had to put up a bit of a fight to get it done though. Her LO was only a few weeks old when it was done. From what i have been told, if it is going to cause problems with feeding it is usually breastfeeding more than bottles as they can find it hard to latch on sometimes. You obviously don't have this problem so i would try not to worry hun. Sounds like he won't need to have anything done to me? Although i'm not a doctor. If you get worried speak to the HV or GP GP. Xx
